In the Matheson Hurdle at 14:20 over in Ireland, Sharjah is looking good to win his fifth consecutive race in this Grade 1. He will be primed for this and will be going great guns at home.

Pied Piper doesn’t look up to standard, while the talk around Vauban doesn’t excite. State Man, however, will prove a much bigger stumbling block.

Staeman is far too short at 8/13 against the 7/2 available about the 9yo Sharjah, and the latter has only four lengths to find on their Morgiana run last time. All in all the bet has to be with the Sharjah.
